Your role as General Manager AIR OCEAN RAIL
As General Manager Air, Sea & Rail, you will be responsible for the stabilisation, growth and further development of the Air, Sea and Rail modalities. You have overall responsibility for the budget of the various offices and the associated results. But the correct course of the operational processes and the optimization of current internal and customer processes also require your attention. You get satisfaction from achieving customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of service, quality, efficiency and effectiveness levels. Maintaining, managing and expanding the existing customer portfolios in collaboration with the Branch Managers is part of your work. In the role of General Manager, you maintain contact with the policymakers/contract owners of the various key accounts.
In this position, you will lead the experienced Branch Managers of the various modalities. Together with them, you determine and realize the purchasing strategy. In your role as a manager, you analyse and manage (customer-oriented) processes. In addition, you monitor and report on individual and team targets. You are able to create support for changes and know better than anyone how to bring out the best in your employees and develop future required competence.
You will report directly to the COO and be part of the MOL Operational Management Team (GM Warehouse & Road & Customs, GM Projects, GM Finance, GM HR).
In addition, you can count the following components among your responsibilities:
- P&L responsible for the Air, Sea and Rail divisions; a partnership with support departments and the Customs department in Tilburg;
- Together with BM’s Point of Contact for the most important Suppliers (shipping companies, air freight, Carriers, etc.), also an escalation point;
- Provides direction, vision and direction to the business objectives and the associated challenges on a tactical and strategic level;
- Acts as a knowledge carrier with regard to the market and various developments;
- Directly manages the Sector Managers and supports, coaches and inspires, develops and guides;
- Active in the negotiation and tender process in collaboration with the General Manager Sales;
- Acts as a sparring partner for the COO;
- Provides guidance based on reports and developments.

Requirements
- Completed business administration logistics education or comparable at HBO/WO level;
- Inspiring and motivating manager, focused on independence;
- Enterprising and able to deal with daily dynamics and make ad hoc decisions, social, ‘people-person’;
- Has a strong network in logistics (air and sea freight, with a strong preference for sea freight);
- Strong communicator, command of the English language, both verbally and in writing;
- Pre-knowledge of MSD & power BI.
