It turned out to be no April fool’s joke: the official launch of Ocean Network Express (ONE) is a fact! ONE is the result of an integration of the container operations of the three Japanese shipping companies Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (MOL) and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). Thanks to this collaboration, ONE allows their customers to benefit from the combined 1,440,000 TEU fleet.
Supported by the global organization, ONE offers 85 different liner services that together connect over 200 of the world’s most important ports. The start of the container transport activities is in line with the original schedule that was drawn up when the company was founded on 7 July 2017.
ONE will soon add a new ship to the fleet: the Minato, with a capacity of 13,870 teu.
