Freight forwarder
In line with our growing activities, we are now looking for expansion (2 new colleagues) for our team at the Ridderkerk location, where we operate under the name Nichicon Europe B.V., a valuable part of Nippon Concept. Since 1994, they have specialised in leasing and transporting ISO tank containers. With this expansion, we not only bring our expertise in transport and logistics to Ridderkerk, but also enrich our capabilities and services with the specialised knowledge of Nichicon Europe B.V. Joining forces enables us to respond even better to the specific needs of our customers and further strengthen our position in the market.
Your role as Forwarding Agent Import
As a Forwarding Agent, you will be part of a team of 6 colleagues, divided into 3 employees for imports and 3 for exports. You will have responsibility for the entire process from A to Z when handling import and export shipments. This includes organising transport to and from the port for specific customers via truck, barge and rail transport. You are also involved in processing customs documents, preparing transport documents, liaising with customers, carriers and shipping companies, and checking and processing depot lists relating to tank container positions. The timely invoicing of services rendered is a crucial part of your duties, where you strive to achieve satisfaction in the handling of customers and their shipments.
We have an open and transparent working method, where we expect our employees to take responsibility for the entire process, from issuing rates to invoicing. In the team, you are willing to support your colleagues and are supported yourself. You have the ability to work independently and carry a high sense of responsibility. Communication is a strong asset of yours – fast, clear and without compromising the quality of your work. You have a preference for quality over quantity; working half-heartedly does not fit into your approach.
Requirements
- We are looking for someone who can come on board quickly;
- Minimum 7 years’ proven experience as a Freight Forwarder;
- You have at least an MBO degree, preferably in a logistics field, for example through the Shipping and Transport College.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English in both word and writing. Knowledge of German is helpful but not mandatory.
- You are driven to continuously improve processes.
- A flexible working attitude is a must to be successful in this dynamic environment.
- You are eager to learn, take initiative and work accurately.
- Knowledge and experience of IMDG legislation and dangerous goods is a plus, but don’t worry if you are not yet fully versed in this; we will support you in discovering and developing this knowledge.
Remember: in all these points, your ambition and attitude are most important to us.
Our offer
We have high expectations of you, and in return you can count on attractive benefits.
- Daily workplace: although you have a contract with MOL Logistics, you will work daily at Nichicon Europe B.V., amid a close-knit team of about 10 colleagues eager to welcome you.
- Growth opportunities: with us, you get the chance to grow in an informal and stimulating environment.
- Development freedom: we believe in your potential and offer you the freedom to develop yourself both during and outside working hours.
- Access to training: during and outside working hours, you get access to a wide range of training courses through Good Habitz, which match both your professional skills and personal interests.
- Appreciation of ideas and initiatives: with us, we value your ideas and initiatives and want to give you the confidence to forge and implement plans with us.
- Employment conditions: besides a pleasant working environment in our Ridderkerk office, we offer you a competitive salary, a minimum of 24 holidays and 3.5 ATV days (pro rata), and a solid pension scheme.
We aim to provide you with a total package that suits both your professional growth and your personal well-being!
